Santa Ana, [Insert Date]—Five members of the Latino community will be honored

This year’s honorees include: Martha Montoya of Los Kitos as Latina Entrepeneur of the Year; Pamela Pimental of MOMS as Latina Executive of the Year; Addy Perez-Mau of Heaven Sent Jewelry as Emerging Latina of the Year; and Francisca Gonzalez-Baxa of the Law Offices of Francisca Gonzalez-Baxa and Johnny Vallejo of Vallejo Financial as Members of the Year. Every year a call for nominations is sent to NLBWA-OC’s members and to leading community and business organizations. An independent committee composed of corporate and community leaders review the nominations and select the honorees.

“As a program driven business organization, it is extremely important that we
recognize successful business people who have positively impacted our members and the community by providing inspiration, professional and entrepreneurial opportunities, and support,” said the NLBWA-OC’s president, Janet Cronick. “The 2006 honorees represent the vision and mission of the NLBWA-OC, to encourage Latinas to develop their business and professional goals through education, business referrals, and networking,

” This year’s Honoring Latinas in Business Awards will be held at The Delhi Community Center in Santa Ana at six o’clock in the evening on May 20, 2006. A multitude of community, corporate, and business leaders are expected to be in attendance. The theme of the event is Havana Nights and the evening’s festivities include a seated dinner followed by the awards presentation and installation of board of directors. Dancing to music from the band, Latin Groove, rounds out the evening. Proceeds from the gala will benefit the NLBWAOC’s signature business development programs, such as the Emerging Latinas program, which will debut June 2006.
