Los Kitos and The Butterfly
Initiative in Orange County
Los Kitos participated on the
Orange County Butterfly Initiative to engage the community to become
involved in “creating”. Part of the program called for artists and community
leaders to “create” butterfly sculptures that were auctioned off at an event
on March 4th… All proceeds going to the First Endowment for the
Arts and Science in Orange County. Individuals such as Wyland,
world-renowned artist, Tony Hawk, Pro-Skater and our own Martha Montoya,
creator of Los Kitos, have donated their time and talent to this worthy
cause.
The auction took place at
Roger’s Garden in Newport Beach.
Los Kitos and Univision’s
Salud, Dinero y Amor
In late February Los Kitos
characters made appearances in front of over 60 thousand attendees at
Univision’s Salud, Dinero y Amor event.
The event took place at the Los
Angeles Convention Center and Los Kitos performed in four separate shows for
the delight of the children and adults and distributed Notikitos “I&E”
Intelligent and Entertaining news for kids.
Edu-Comic Book for Latino
Parents in Orange County
Los Kitos was been selected by
the Orange County Business Council to create a booklet directed to Latino
parents in the neighborhoods with the 100 lowest performing schools in
Orange County.
LK will deliver a message to
parents on “Los Diez Mandamientos de Los Padres” (Parents’ Ten Commandments)
with the goal of increasing parents awareness of the importance of school
for their children’s futures and provide them with the tools to achieve the
expectations they have for their children.
Los Kitos will help generate the
“Buzz” among the Latino neighborhoods of the importance of education for the
future of their children and their community.
